Special Entry

I'm writing this entry in English because I've noticed that a few people are using online translations to figure out what's going on here. I've taken a look at a few tools and decided to share my opinion of them:

It does a good job of recognizing special signs and conjugated verbs, even reflexive ones, with very few exceptions. Still, it is unable to use context to realize whether the direct object is male or female, and constantly substitutes with the pronoun "it" without using "him" or "her". It tends to use the pronoun "he" for both male and female. I guess this happens with all translation tools and one has to learn to live with it. If unsure about the meaning of a word, it offers two choices, which is quite nice.

This is the same technology that Yahoo uses. It is better than Google in recognizing conjugated forms and also offers choices for ambiguous words.

Not bad, comparable in quality to Google or Babelfish, but it has an ugly interface.

Not bad, either. I can hardly tell the difference between the results from this tool and those from Babelfish, except that It does seem to have a slightly wider vocabulary.

It doesn't even recognize special characters. Any Spanish word that includes them is not translated and, even worse, weird charachters are included, so even if you knew a little Spanish it would be very confusing.

So far the best translation tool. The pronouns still have the wrong sex, but all conjugated verbs are recognized and in general the translation makes sense. I recommend it over the other tools.
Please keep in mind that the only type of translation was from Spanish to English. Results may vary when translating into different languages.
